Single Parent Counselling

Support for single parents navigating parenting, emotional load, and life transitions.

Parenting on your own can carry a unique mix of responsibility, pressure, and emotional weight. Single parents often juggle caregiving, decision-making, and practical demands while holding a lot internally, sometimes with limited support.

At The Nest, counselling for single parents offers space to slow down, reflect, and feel supported as you navigate this season of life.

Counselling is offered in person in Nanaimo and virtually across British Columbia.

Who Single Parent Counselling Can Support

Single Parent counselling may be supportive if you’re navigating:

  • Emotional overwhelm or burnout

  • Parenting stress or decision fatigue

  • Grief, loss, or changes in family structure

  • Coparenting or communication challenges

  • Identity shifts or feelings of isolation

  • Stress related to finances, time, or support systems

Our Approach to Single Parent Counselling

Our work is relational and trauma-informed, shaped collaboratively rather than by a set formula. We pay attention to how experiences show up in thoughts, emotions, the body, and relationships.

Sessions move at a pace that feels respectful of your capacity and needs. You don’t need to know which approach is right for you. We’ll explore that together.
