LGBTQ+ Counselling
Affirming counselling support for LGBTQ+ individuals, couples, and families.
LGBTQ+ individuals and families may seek counselling for many of the same reasons as others, alongside experiences shaped by identity, relationships, and social context.
At The Nest, we offer LGBTQ+ allied counselling that is affirming, relational, and attentive to lived experience. Counselling is a space to explore what you’re navigating with care and respect.
Counselling is offered in person in Nanaimo and virtually across British Columbia.
Common Reasons to Seek LGBTQ+ Counselling
LGBTQ+ counselling may be supportive if you’re navigating:
Identity exploration or self-understanding
Anxiety, stress, or emotional overwhelm
Relationship or family dynamics
Life transitions or coming-out experiences
Grief, loss, or relational strain
Trauma
Our Approach to LGBTQ+ Counselling
Our work is relational and trauma-informed, shaped collaboratively rather than by a set formula. We pay attention to how experiences show up in thoughts, emotions, the body, and relationships.
Sessions move at a pace that feels respectful of your capacity and needs. You don’t need to know which approach is right for you. We’ll explore that together.
