New Parent Counselling

Support for new and expecting parents navigating the emotional and relational shifts of early parenthood.

The transition into parenthood can be profound and disorienting. New parents may experience emotional overwhelm, identity shifts, changes in relationships, or feelings that are unexpected or difficult to name.

At The Nest, counselling for new parents offers space to slow down, reflect, and feel supported during this tender season.

Counselling is offered in person in Nanaimo and virtually across British Columbia.

Who New Parent Counselling Can Support

New Parent counselling may be supportive if you’re navigating:

  • Postpartum depression or anxiety

  • Emotional overwhelm or burnout

Identity shifts after becoming a parent

    Relationship changes or strain

    Fertility, pregnancy, or birth-related experiences

    Adjustment challenges in early parenthood

Our Approach to New Parent Counselling

Our work is relational and trauma-informed, shaped collaboratively rather than by a set formula. We pay attention to how experiences show up in thoughts, emotions, the body, and relationships.

Sessions move at a pace that feels respectful of your capacity and needs. You don’t need to know which approach is right for you. We’ll explore that together.
